Arguing is difficult, if not impossible - the person on the phone with you has little flexibility, and didn't make the system, and even ifyou register a complaint, you can expect it'll be ignored.
Using last 4 of the phone number seems an excellent idea, as it helps keep the fib consistent, at least.
