Gripe, gripe, gripe, gripe, gripe!
Oct. 22nd, 2003 12:22 pmComplain, complain! Whine, whine whine!
Jimminy Flipping Christmas, people! Whoever told you that sounding like a hard drive with dying bearings is a good way to get what you want?
Arisia is run by volunteers. If you don't like what's there, you could take the stunningly original action of going to a ConCom meeting, asking who is in charge of your pet peeve, and offering to help make things better. Sighing and complaining in LJ does not count as constructive input.
I'm sorry that you don't like the representation of tabletop RPGs at the con, but I sure didn't see you at Monday's ConCom meeting! I'm sorry if you don't like the gaming panels. Perhaps we could have used some suggestions? Even if you don't happen to know someone on the ConCom or Programming staff, Arisia has a web page (http://www.arisia.org/) that's got all kinds of contact links.
Simple concepts, really: Action yields change. You get out of it what you put into it. If you take no action, nothing happens. If what you put into it is a lot of lazy whining, guess what you'll get out of it?
This rant has been brought to you by the absolute least and lowliest of the Arisia staff. It does not represent the opinions of the Arisia ConCom or Corporation. Heck, it doesn't even represent the author's rational opinion. That, however, doesn't mean there isn't any truth to it.
