Ich bin ein New Englander

...but it seems most of my coworkers are from Florida, or something. 'Cause while I'm here in the office, they aren't. Pansies! 3" to 6" of snow should not, to someone living in MA, be a major concern. Heck, I got up, out, got a new tire for my Lady's car, and then still got to work at a reasonable hour.

But in a company of 30+ people, there's more "I'm working from home" e-mails than people in the office. Where's your pride, people?

*sigh* It's quiet here. Too quiet...

And with all the empty cubes, this place woudl be awesome for laser-tag or something....

I could have driven in, but I didn't. If I had to cover a console shift, it'd be different. But just for a quiet Friday at the office I see no point in running the risk of the highways.

I know what you mean. I was early to work today, even though I left half an hour late. I was also the first in, and had to turn the lights on. I live seventy miles from my office -- farther than anyone else has to travel. Go fig.

"I continue to be amazed year after year at how freaked out New Englanders get by snow. For goodness sakes people! This happens every year, you should be used to it by now.
My office is about 1/3+ empty. I was able to (dispite being 5 min late) park 2 rows closer in the lot than I usually can. According to one of my coworkers large swaths of the office take the day off if there is snow falling."

So, if they're wimpy drivers from hereabouts, you want them on the roads in snow?

Amen. I was planning on working a half day and heading in to the office at noon, but then I get a page from my boss (who was born and raised in NE) at 9am saying "Y'know, given the bad weather, why don't you work from home this afternoon?"

Geez.

I was looking forward to walking through the snow to work.

I heart winter.

There may be some (there's certainly me, and I bet there's others) who are life-long New Englanders and could have made it in, but the schools are closed and kids are home.

The morning wasn't too bad, but it got worse later...
