In short:
If one is an incumbent presidential candidate, in a year when outsourcing of jobs is a big issue, perhaps it pays to have someone make sure all your campaign merchandise is American made.
It would pay even more to have someone make sure that the product does not come from a nation whose imports you personally banned. Yes, apparently the item was imported before the ban went into effect, but it still seems like a fairly chewy sort of irony, to me.
