I watched the news today. Oh, boy...
Pretty much everyone is talking about war. There's this cacophony - government people, armed forces people, media people, private citizens. Talking about who did what and when and what it means, the right of it, the wrong of it, the stress of it on us, on others. Everyone has something to say. Except for me, it seems.
When faced with this howling in the air, the airwaves, and the aether, when I hear this great wall of noise, it becomes abundantly clear to me that I've nothing to add. I'm this guy. I am not specialized in history, or foreign policy, or military matters. I am not at any real risk, have nothing notable at stake. I eat my food, breathe my air, play with the cat. I don't see how I'm likely to have the right thing to say, even if I could be heard with this abysmal signal to noise ratio.
I will wait, and watch, and listen. Some things will happen, and then it will be finished.
