Who plans these things?

So, this Easter I learned something.

Groceries are closed. If you don't have it at home, you're sunk. However, restaurants are open, and so is Home Depot. So, you can hire somebody else to cook food for you, or you can buy dirt, seeds, and all the fiddly bits you need to grow your own. But gods help you if you want to cook something yourself. Go figure.

"But on a holiday where folx cook big dinners for their visiting families, what possible need would you have for a supermarket?" :)

I stopped expecting these things to make sense when I first realized how frequently this state requires liquor stores to be closed, but allows bars to be open. So if someone wants to drink, they have to go out on the roads for it.

Law and custom can be very dumb sometimes...
