So, on April 15th, my wife is hosting a "Girl's Night". A bunch of women are going to descend upon our home to watch movies, eat pizza, gossip, braid each other's hair, and so on.

Needless to say, my presence isn't likely to add to the ambiance of the evening. I want the ladies to have the best time possible, so I volunteered to make myself scarce. That, of course, means I have to find somehting to do with myself that gets me out of the house late into the night, perhaps even overnight. Time to start listing options as I think of and/or investigate them...

Normally, when at loose ends I might offer to host a gaming session for friends. However, my hosting anything is out in the picture.

I have friends in Vermont and Connecticut that I might visit. I am thankfuly mobile.

The Brattle theatre isn't claiming to show anything particularly interesting. The Kendall Square theatre doesn't yet have schedule up for that weekend. :(

WERS, unfortunately, doesn't seem to post its concert calendar or list of local theatrical shows online. Will have to search other listings... :(

I can, of course, simply sequester myself in a late-night cafe or hotel room to work on gaming or other creative projects. I wonder if Bickford's has tables with outlets for laptops?

You could put on a red, white, and blue outfit, go to your nearest 24-hour post office, and greet everyone who's turning in tax envelopes at the last minute...

The last minute is postponed this year -- since 4/15 falls on a weekend, you have until Monday the 17th to file.

Don't tell me that, I am a big enough procrastinator as is!

Must have missed that one somehow... ordinarily I would suggest that you and S. find someplace to go together, but we're going to be in Ohio. Sorry!

So offer to run a gaming session, and see if one of said friends can host it instead? See what's playing over at Club Passim?
