From today's Sci Fi Wire, an update on Gnomeo and Juliet.

Gnomeo and Juliet? Yes, as you feared, it's the Elton John musical version of the Shakespeare romance, done in the world of garden gnomes. I kid you not.

In the article, Elton John is quoted as saying, "Gnomeo is an edgy concept, and Miramax is the perfect home to push the envelope in animation."

Gnomes are edgy?!? What, are their little peaked felt hats serrated, or something?

You should definitely ask divalion about garden gnomes. She has refugee gnomes living in her attic. Given the recent furor over immigration... if that's not cutting edge, I don't know what is!
