Matrimonial Nirvana

ursangnomeFour years ago today, I married the most wonderful woman it has ever been my pleasure to meet. Best damned decision I've made in my years on this planet.
Traditionally, the fourth anniversary is "fruit and flowers". This made anniversary gifts a bit more challenging this year, but my Lady seems to have outdone herself with something incredibly simple - a clever little teapot (the "Perfect Teamaker" from Teavana), and a selection of fruit-flavored teas. The teamaker works surprisingly well, and its simple design allows me to get a really good cup of tea with fewer separate fiddly-bits or hardware, making it ideal for use in the office. Getting in and having my morning cup will be something to look forward to again.
Tonight, if all goes as planned, will be a trip to The Melting Pot.
Several coworkers have remarked that I've been uncommonly perky today. Not that I'm normally surly, but I seem to be in rare form. This has even survived the day's hurdle of discovering that the magnetic strip on my ATM card is not only having difficulties, is not merely mortally wounded, but is really and most sincerely dead. Must have leaned against the wrong piece of electronics one too many timies here at the office. So, I have some minor inconvenience while waiting for the new card.
When asked how I remain so upbeat with annoyances, my answer today is simple - when I got married, I won.
